The Chinese Book of Crafts
2,500 years ago, a treatise on handicraft techniques during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, titled “The Classic of Crafts,” left a precious mark on industrial civilization for posterity with its exquisite craftsmanship and profound wisdom in creation, becoming an immortal classic in the history of Chinese science and technology.
2,500 years later, in the context of the “great transformation unseen in a century,” The Chinese Kāogōng Jì draws inspiration from the Kāogōng Jì to trace the origins of China's industrial civilization. By recreating the ancient state-run handicraft industry's diverse craftsmanship scenes, integrating AR technology with dance choreography, it delves into the deep-rooted threads of China's industrial civilization, contemplates the enduring spirit of craftsmanship spanning millennia, and initiates a thrilling cross-temporal dialogue.
This first-of-its-kind program focusing on China's industrial culture features stage design that exudes industrial aesthetics. The single section of the opening and closing stage weighs 4,500 kg and adopts an outward-folding stage design, vividly showcasing the majestic power of China's industrial strength. The circular track suspended above the stage symbolizes the continuous evolution and innovation of China's industrial civilization. CNC modules construct square and circular shapes, embodying the seamless transition between tradition and innovation as the stage rises and falls.
Led by Wang Zhe, the Shangwei Visual Team was responsible for the lighting design of this program. 100 units of the CKC-Proxima Hybrid (waterproof laser three-in-one 500) illuminated the technological brilliance of China's industrial sector. The “craftsmanship wisdom” of traditional Chinese engineering harmoniously complemented China's intelligent manufacturing, allowing audiences to appreciate the unique charm of industrial aesthetics throughout history through the synergy of lighting and technology.
Proxima Hybrid excels at beams, coloring, and patterns, perfectly suited for stage presentations. Sharp beams combined with prisms spread outward, creating a time tunnel connecting the past and present on stage and evoking a sense of time travel. Equipped with a uniform CMY color mixing system, it uses high-brightness, high-saturation colors to color the stage of “The Chinese Book of Crafts,” which combines a futuristic technological feel with industrial aesthetics, perfectly matching the theme of the program.
When the aesthetics of light and shadow intertwine with hardcore industry, Proxima Hybrid, as a member of modern industry, appears alongside 80 cutting-edge robots, deeply integrating into the program's theme. The emotional exchange of craftsmanship spanning 2,500 years is moving, and the “technical dialogue” between robots and lights is silent yet tangible, jointly showcasing the technical heights of hardcore industry and industrial light and shadow, presenting all audiences with a feast of industrial aesthetics!
